21-23 FTX at Charlie Elliot

Walton COunty COmposite Squadron will be hosting a Mini-encampment
style excercise on January 21-23rd. It will most likely be held at
Charlie Elliot WMA in madison. Transportation can be provided for up
to 8 cadets. If anyone else can offer transportation please notify me.
The Weekend will include orientation (Not formal training) on fire
building, shelter building,day and night landnav, knots,
ground to air signalling, simplified survival, Pt, Marching,
gear perperation, leadership, discipline,and LOTS of extreme
team building excercises.There will be 1 hour set aside on sunday
for religous activities.

I need an approximate number of cadets that can attend and their
names and phone numbers. I also need applicants for staff. There
are 3 opening for cadets and as many senior member that want to
attend and help train cadets are encouraged to do so.

This activity will be worth points in the competition. Walton County
will receive points for hosting it and all squadrons will receive
points for sending cadets.

Attached is a basic equipment list (May change slightly).

Tents for some (If you have a large tent please e-mail me)
Sleeping bag w/ sleeping pad
Something warm to stuff the sleeping bag with
Poncho (And poncho liner if you have one)
Pack (School backpack will do, but military style packs are preferred)
Web belt
CAP ID
Cold weather Cover and something else warm to cover the head.
Canteens
Fire starting material (This should include matches, some kindling, and a lighter at least)
BDU’s, Preferably 2 pairs, there will be a lot of running.
Pt gear (Sweat pants, shirt, tennis shoes)
Flashlight
Food (4-6 Powerbars, 2-4 MRE’s, Cans of spam. Some food will be provided) (Chocolate BARS are allowed)
Compass
Pen
Notebook
Good boots and socks (At least 4 pairs of boot socks)
Field jacket (and other warm clothing)
Long underwear (NO COTTON!)
Rope
Any religious items
Utility knife
Shoe Polish
3-4 undershirts
Hygiene kit

Be prepared for cold weather!! You can bring anything you think is necessary as long as it isn’t contraband.
